An aerospace client is looking for a Registered Nurse who provides nursing services and first aid to employees or persons who become ill or injured at work facilities.

Location: Redondo Beach, CA (On-site/On-call)
Position: Registered Nurse
Pay Rate: $25/hr. – $41/hr. on W2 (DOE)
Duration: 9 months or longer
Schedule: 9/80 schedule (Monday thru Thursday 6:30am-4:00pm, every other Friday 6:30-3:00pm)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides nursing services and first aid to employees or persons who become ill or injured at work facilities.
  • Delivers OSHA and job/site required surveillance program services such as hearing conservation or biological monitoring to employee populations in collaboration with appropriate functional teams.
  • Maintains accurate recordkeeping in compliance with OSHA requirements; provides health promotion and disease prevention strategies; provides counseling, health education and training programs as applicable.
  • May work with industrial toxicology and/or hygienists to recognize environmental factors and/or stresses in or from the workplace that may cause sickness, impaired health, or discomfort among the workers.
  • Administer first-aid; dispenses standard OTC medicines such as aspirin/cough or cold tablets, pain relievers; attends subsequent dressings of injuries; maintains records of person treated; prepares reports; provides health education information; refers serious injuries or illnesses beyond first-aid to local Occupational Health clinic, primary care physician, urgent care or activate emergency services 911
  • Performs OSHA required health monitoring exams (blood draw, urine collection, audio, respirator, vision exams); administers vaccines and TB skin test; screens employees for return-to-work clearance collaborating with the leave absence desk and/or employees’ manager for acceptance of work restrictions/accommodations.
  • Administers company policy in regard to Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace-coordinating drug/alcohol testing for Reasonable Suspicion or EAP random program
  • Supports Corporate Health and Wellness Programs along with coordinating wellness events
  • Provides health education information/ attends meetings; hosting flu shot clinics and blood drives

What does a typical day look like? 

  • Monday morning-employee return to work clearance, Monday afternoon follow up exams with doctor;
  • Tuesday- full day bloodwork, PFTs, audio exams;
  • Wednesday -medical unit work, addressing walk ins;
  • Thursday- follow up exams with the doctor

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • 5 years nursing experience in either Occupational/Employee Health, hospital setting or health clinic
  • Registered Nurse with the State of California Board of Nursing, BLS CPR/AED certification
  • Proficient in drawing blood, must be able to work until 4:00pm, work independently, familiar with OSHA regulations, required to do AED checks in all site buildings across both campuses
