Location: West Hills, CA 91307
Position: Cashier
Pay Rate: $23 – 25/hr DOE
Duration: 16 weeks
Expected Shift: Day 5×8-Hour
Each person may not work the same shift every week as we may have to rotate them based on operational need.
Shifts:
M-F Shifts
5:30-2:00 PM
11:30-8:00PM
Weekends/Holidays
5:30-2:00 PM
4:00-8:00 PM
11:30-8:00 PM (based on operational need)
JOB SUMMARY
- Must have at least a High School Diploma.
- Must be able to read, speak, and understand English in order to write memos, and to read and understand policies and procedures relevant to employment in the department.
- Skill in handling a computerized cash register.
- Skill in making change, handling currency, and being able to recognize counterfeit bills easily.
- Skill in performing basic bookkeeping transactions, as well as basic math in order to maintain accurate and legible cash logs.
- Ability to interact with both internal and external customers in a high volume operation, with diplomacy, and patience.
- Mathematical skills to insure accuracy in calculating and generating deposits and postings according to University Policy.
- Knowledge of and adherence to all Departmental, University, and Hospital policies as relevant to cash handling procedures.
- Ability to function fully as a team member, participating in on-going performance improvement projects.
- Ability to stand, bend, walk, reach, lift, push and pull for prolonged periods of time in hot or cold areas.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull 50+lbs.
- Knowledge of and adherence to all safety and sanitation procedures as outlined by JC and HACCP standards.
- Knowledge of and adherence to all departmental work rules such as applies to attendance, punctuality, dress code, and removal of University property.
