An aerospace client is looking for a Dimension Control Technician who lays out, fabricates and assembles a variety of standard and nonstandard major jigs, fixtures, tool masters, master tooling gauges, and related tooling involving compound angels and complex contours where the establishment and coordination to exacting tolerances of numerous tooling holes and reference points between several planes are required. 

Location: Palmdale, CA 93550 (On-site)
Position: Dimension Control Technician
Pay Rate: $20.64/hr. – $24.12/hr. on W2 (DOE)
Duration: 6 months or longer
Schedule: 4×10 (M-Th) 1st shift 5:00am-3:30pm Monday through Thursday; 2nd shift 4:12pm-2:42am

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lays out, fabricates and assembles a variety of standard and nonstandard major jigs, fixtures, tool masters, master tooling gauges, and related tooling involving compound angels and complex contours where the establishment and coordination to exacting tolerances of numerous tooling holes and reference points between several planes are required.
  • Plans work to be performed and determines methods and sequence of operations working from tool design drawings or own designs.
  • Sets up and operates optical instruments to check overall and detailed alignment, fit, or adjustment of assemblies.
  • Develops and designs holding devices and jig and fixture details.
  • Prepares operational sequences and shop drawings covering parts fabrication and assembly to be performed by others.
  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
  • Support higher classified employees with day-to-day tasks maintaining an aerospace production line.
  • Machine shop environment, Close knit team culture
  • Employee will start day by performing shop 5s he will then be assigned work by shop leads, candidate will perform/support assignment maintenance/repair/inspection and housekeeping.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • This is an Entry Level position.
  • Organization, basic hand tools, Microsoft office suite
  • Highly organization, Good Communication, self-starter, problem solver, positive attitude, safety minded
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
