Power Transmission Design Engineer
An electric utility client is looking for an Power Transmission Design Engineer who will be responsible for the transmission line design and/or overseeing a contractor who is performing the transmission line design for generation tie lines, reconductoring projects, and new transmission lines.
Location: Pomona, CA 91768 (Hybrid)
Position: Power Transmission Design Engineer
Pay Rate: $86/hr. on W2
Duration: 12 months or longer
Schedule: 1st shift, M-F, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, This is a hybrid role with Wed/Thu onsite
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the transmission line design and/or overseeing a contractor who is performing the transmission line design for generation tie lines, reconductoring projects, and new transmission lines.
- Transmission line design projects will vary from 66 to 500 kV.
- Responsibilities include but not limited to ordering material, issuing drawing packages in PLS-CADD and AutoCAD, and quality assurance of contractor work.
- Responsible to attend project meetings and represent transmission engineering and provide project updates to stakeholders including schedule updates using provided scheduling tools.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 5+ years of related experience
- PLS-CADD software
- High voltage Transmission line design experience
DESIRED SKILLS
- California PE
- Familiar with GO95
- AutoCAD
- DC line design experience
- SPIDACalc
- Background in QA/QC
