An aerospace client is looking for a Registered Nurse who provides nursing services and first aid to employees or persons who become ill or injured at work facilities.

Location: Palmdale, CA 93550 (On-site)
Position: Registered Nurse
Pay Rate: $50/hr. on W2 
Duration: 12 months or longer
Schedule: 4/10 (M-Th)
Shift: 2nd Shift (2:00PM – 12:30AM)

Overview:

  • Provides nursing services and first aid to employees or persons who become ill or injured at work facilities.
  • Delivers OSHA and job/site required surveillance program services such as hearing conservation or biological monitoring to employee populations in collaboration with appropriate functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains accurate recordkeeping in compliance with OSHA requirements;
  • Assists with managing workers’ compensation cases;
  • Assists with managing the paid transitional duty program;
  • Reviews return to work medical reports;
  • Provides health promotion and disease prevention strategies;
  • Provides counseling, health education and training programs as applicable.
  • May work with industrial toxicology and/or hygienists to recognize environmental factors and/or stresses in or from the workplace that may cause sickness, impaired health, or discomfort among the workers.
  • May work with occupational safety and health engineers to analyze injury causes.
  • Numerous pre employment physicals, hearing tests, treating minor injuries, reviewing medical reports from workplace injuries to leave of absence return to work reports.

Basic Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Associates degree in Nursing
  • 4 or more years of experience as an RN
  • CPR/BLS certification
  • Active CA RN license
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail and internet navigation
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently or with a team on special projects.
  • Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain confidential documents and information.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at one time under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to function within all levels of organization and at various locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing
  • 2+ years in occupational health
  • Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC)
  • Spirometry (NIOSH approved course optimal)
  • Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN)
